Recently, there has been an increase in over sexed music videos. Why do artists succumb to such measures? Well that question is easy to answer...sex sells. Artists who have a below average album, can jazz it up by incorporating sexual innuendos and vixens in their videos to sell their music. Is this ethical? Is it moral? Depending on what you believe, these artists become popular based on these music videos. They want to get their name out there, and they do so by essentially "selling out". I can't deny, some of these "sexy" videos are hot, and I do enjoy watching them, but I always keep and open mind! Here's my top 10 list of overly sexy videos.
1. Eric Prydz- Call on Me
2. Benny Benassi- Satisfaction
3. Christina Aguilera- Dirrty
4. Fredde Le Grande- Put Your Hands up for Detroit
5. Alex Guadino- Destination Calibria
6. Inna- Sun is up
7.Big Sean- Dance Ass
8.Warrant- Cherry Pie
9. 50 Cent- Candy Shop
10. Sak Noel- Loca People (uncensored)
Check out the video to the below....WARNING...it's quite sexy! Peace && Love!

Warped Tour and Edgefest, which are more of a one day event featuring punk rock, pop rock, and many other types of performers. Here is a list I compiled (in no particular order)of the craziest, wildest, most outlandish and amazing music festivals around the world.

Lights (legal name), born Valerie Poxleitner in Timmins Ontario is an electronic pop artist who has just released her sophomore album Siberia. Lights gained mainstream success with her two pop hits February Air and Drive My Soul in 2008. February Air was also featured on seasons 1 and 2 of MTV's popular show Peak Season. Lights has toured with many notable bands including Owl City, British band Keane, Stars of Track and Field, Hedley, and These Kids Wear Crowns. She has been credited to get her musical influences from artists such as Bjork, ELO, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. In a recent interview with MTV Canada, Lights explained her new album is heavily influenced by dubstep. Lights has won Indie Awards for Favourite Solo Artist of the Year and for Favourite Single. In 2009 she was nominated for many Juno Awards where she went on to win for the category of Best New Artist. Her first album, The Listening was certified gold by the Canadian Recording Industry Association. If you are knew to Lights, I would definitely start with her first album, and move on to the new sounds of her second album. I truly get inspired by this artist when I hear her sing, I love her voice, and commend her for being a successful female recording artist from Canada. Take a listen here to her popular single out now on iTunes! Enjoy! Peace & Love!
Last night I was able to see an amazing performance by Luke Boyd...aka Classified. This Canadian rapper from Enfied, Nova Scotia has put out 13 albums since his first in 1995. Some of his most notable singles, That Ain't Classy, 5th Element, Hard to be Hip Hop, and Oh Canada among many others. Many of his albums and songs have also been nominated for multiple Juno Awards, as well as Much Music Video Awards. This rapper has dope rhymes where he often focuses on his life, his family, his roots, and what Canada means to him. I was able to meet this amazing artist last night which to my surprise found him to be very down to earth, easy going, and genuine. One of the best parts of his concert last night was when he came back onstage for an enchore, and he played 7 of his most memorable songs in 7 minutes. If you havent yet heard of this rapper check out his official website and take a listen to his new album, buy some merchandise, and really learn to love this artist. Here's one of his songs off his new album Handshakes and Middle Fingers.Hope you enjoy! Peace & Love!
Well it's that time of the year again, and what better way to celebrate it than listing some amazing holiday music. Here are my two favourite Christmas albums and some new additions I will be listening to this season.
1. Mariah Carey- Merry Christmas
This album is a staple in my house around the holidays and features amazing ballads by Mariah Carey. This album is so cheerful, and brings out the holidays for me. Carey doesn't disappoint, and if you haven't heard her belt out "All I Want for Christmas is You" then you definitely need to pick up this album and take a listen.
2. Boys II Men- Christmas Interpretations
Boys II Men released this album in 1993, during the bands peak. Many of the songs on the album were written by the band giving the album a more original feel. They cover the usual Christmas tracks such as Silent Night, and Let it Snow (featuring Brian McKnight), but they also have some amazing original songs on the album. You definitely need to check out this album if you haven't already, it will really amaze you!
I'm sure many of you have heard that Justin Bieber has just released a new Christmas Album. I have heard a few of the songs, and I don't think the music is for me. Although his vocals are good, it just doesn't hit me like some other Christmas music out there today. Michael Buble is also putting out a Christmas album, and my thought process is, anything Michael Buble sings turns to gold. His music is amazing, and I love listening to him sing. I have listened to a few of his songs, and it definitely puts me into the Christmas spirit.
Some other great artists I will be listening to this season include Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and Elvis Presley. Their music never ceases to amaze me, and I'm looking forward to their Christmas music this season. Here's a a song off Micheal Buble's Christmas album. Enjoy!
Over the past ten years, we have seen a shift in music channels such as MTV and Much Music. They have stopped playing viewer hits and started succumbing to commercial television programming. Much of the programming they play are not even music concentrated such as MTV's hit shows Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, Ridiculousness, among many others. And our famed Canadian hit music channel Much Music has taken a huge step towards that trend playing anything from Gossip Girl, to Degrassi, to Punk'd. Sure these shows have great fellowship, but where has the music gone? This need makes music fans, such as myself seek alternate places to get my music video fix such as Youtube, and other online music sources. MTV and Much Music thankfully are aware, and do some good by posting music videos and albums on their website. You can go tohttp://www.mtv.ca/music/, and watch videos by the hottest bands, and artists and also listen to new album releases. I'm glad they have taken the time to do that for music fans such as myself, but gone is the day where you would see a plethora of music videos at 3pm on Much Music, now your stuck with the next best thing...Born to Be. I do commend Much Music for some of their shows that feature Canadian artists such as Disband, and Discovered, where new and upcoming artists are featured and are given a shot to release a studio album, but I really do miss the music.
I was recently on http://www.muchmusic.com/music/ and was introduced to the band called Los Campesinos, which I'm glad they featured because I quickly became a fan. Here's a song from their album for you to enjoy! To get more information about this band check out their official Myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/loscampesinos

So I was looking through my cd collection and stumbled upon CoheedsGood Apollo I'm Burning Star IV album. I must say, I really love this album and this band. I was first introduced to this band in grade 10 by a friend in my English class, and to my surprise I really fell for their music. All of Coheeds albums are concept albums, where the lead, Claudio Sanchez, writes fictional stories, called the Amory Wars, which has been created into comic books and a novel. If you have ever heard a Coheed song, and saw what lead singer Caludio looks like, a surprisingly smirk would result. Beginning this month, the band is said to begin recording their next studio album, which will stay within their Amory Wars storyline. If you want something different, take a listen to their music, its so energetic, pulsating, and enjoyable at any time. Head to their website, check out some music, purchase some merch, and just enjoy! Here's one of my favourite songs Once Upon Your Dead Body

So a lot of people have been wanting me to do a few indie bands, so I'm going to give you a few here this week. First, gotta start with The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye), amazing RnB indie artist from Toronto, Ontario. It's hard to call him Indie when he has been blowing up over the past year, but his new mainstream success I'm sure will continue to peak within the next 6 months. On March 2011, a 9 song mixtape was released House of Balloons, which is apart of a trilogy which also includes Thursday, which was released on August 18th 2011, and Echoes of Silence which is said to be released this Autumn. The Weeknds song High for This was featured on the final season of HBO's Entourage as a promo trailer. House of Balloons was nominated for a Polaris Music Prize on June 16th 2011. Last weekend, I was able to see The Weeknd perform in Guelph Ontario at Guelph Concert Theatre, which was jam packed. He delivered an amazing set, with two encore performances. Here is one of his popular songs, High for This. Listen and Love! Peace babes!
CCR, is an American rock band that rose to fame during the 1960's and 1970's with their southern rock tunes, often noted as country rock or "swamp" rock. The band consisted of lead singer John Fogerty, his brother, guitarist Tom Fogerty, bass player, Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. I began my long lived love for this band as a child. I remember lip singing during car rides, dancing with the broom during our Saturday cleaning days.I have now come to realize, their music is essentially the soundtrack to my childhood.
The band, released their self titled album in 1968, which got significant radio airplay, because of the classic hit, and one of my favourites, Susie Q. The band later peaked to success with their second album, Bayou Country, in 1969, which features some amazing songs such as Proud Mary, Born on the Bayou, Bad Moon Rising, among so many other famous hits. So many of their songs are staples in my life, and I often find myself in my sisters room, jamming to Down on the Corner and just reminiscing. This band just makes me feel warm, joyful, happy, and brings excitement to my life. I truly am in love with this band! Heres one of my favourites! Hope you all enjoy.
I'd say I first started absolutely loving this band about 5 years ago, and it kind of stuck with me. The band from LA, first formed in 1981, by guitarist and my love Nikki Sixx, andTommy Lee. Mick Mars then joined the band, followed by Vince Neil. Notably this band, unlike many others, although went on multiple hiatuses, never changed the core members, making the band so authentic. This band is the epitome of sex, drugs and rock and roll, as they abused and used drugs, women, and anything else they could get their hands on. The band released multiple albums which include Shout at the Devil, Theatre of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr. Feelgood, Decade of Decadence ( compilation album), Generation Swine, Red White, and Crue (which was another compilation album with a few new songs).
The band went through a lot of turmoil during their heyday of success which includes, multiple drug and alcohol binges, drug overdoses (Nikki was pronounced dead during an overdose), car crashes, band fights. During the era of glam rock, this band really possessed the ability to draw listeners to their music, and give off a feel good, fun, rock vibe. I began my infatuation with Nikki Sixx after reading Heroine Diaries, which is an amazing book written by Nikki Sixx. This book, features journal entries that Nikki wrote during his darkest time while on Heroine during the creation of Girls, Girls Girls in 1987. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone as it not only features his entries, but commentary from other members of the band, and what they whitnessed during Nikki's hard time. The band, 30 years later, has accomplished so much, from reality television, sobriety, a comeback tour, solo and side projects, and so many other amazing accomplishments, I truly love and cherish this band. Here's one of my favourite songs by the band off their 1987 album Girls, Girls Girls. Hope you enjoy, peace babes!
So according to my poll, the most votes went to rock. Over the next week I am going to do only posts based on rock artists. My three favourite rock artists are CCR, Metallica, and Motley Crue. Check for posts next week, but to get you excited heres a great Metallica track for the night! WOOOO, enjoy my lovers!
From Lexington, Kentucky this American band infuses heavy metal sounds through soulful inspirations. Johhny Craig, (lead vocals) gives off innocent connotations within his voice, but draws out so much harmony. He is able to reach such a massive vocal range. His voice is truly like no other, and takes my breath away. The band, with Johhny Craig, who joined in 2007, have released two amazing albums, Relativity (in 2008) and Emarosa (in 2010). Listen to this amazing song off their latest album! Love Babes!
One word to describe this singer, songwriter, rapper, and actor....RealDEAL!
KiD CuDi, born Scott Mescudi in Cleveland Ohio first gained attention with his mixtape, a Kid named Cudi. He then went on to gain international notoriety with his 2009 hit Day n Night, which was featured on his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. My sister went and saw his show last week (September 15th) in Toronto Ontario at the Molson Amphitheatre, which was a rescheduled concert from July. She went on to explain " When he (KiD CuDi) left the stage, he took a piece of my heart!". Wish I was there to see the Man on the Moon and his talent at his best. One of her favourite parts of the night was when he went on to play "Hey Joe", a cover by Jimi Hendrix. Clearly, this man knows great music!
In 2010, CuDi formed a rock band called Wizard, which will be released after his next solo album.Currently, you can see CuDi starring in the new HBO comedy, How to Make it in America, which is produced by Mark Wahlberg. Here's a great track off CuDi's debut album.
1970 Jimi Hendrix along with Eric Burdon played at Ronnie Scotts in London, England, which went on to be the artists last public appearance before his death.
Jimi Hendrix, born Johnny Allen Hendrix, November 27th 1942 is by far one of the greastest electric guitar players of our time. He revolutionized music with his "far out" sounds and complex guitar playing. He was so unique in every way from playing left handed to being the first to experiment with surround sound within his music recordings. Love Love Love this man for the amazing music he produced and created. Heres a great track listen, love, and never forget! Listen to this really loud, rock out! Peace Babes!
Underoath is one of my favourite metalcore screamo bands from the States. The band features so many amazing emotionally driven tracks, with not only heart stopping vocals and groundbreaking band presence, but with the stark realism embedded within their lyrics.
Underoath first formed in 1997 by lead vocalist Dallas Taylor, as a Christian band. Although the band is tagged Christian, they are different, as many of their songs and lyrics do not feature biblical references. With Dallas, the band went on to release three albums, Act of Depression, Cries of the Past, and The Changing of Times. Dallas Taylor then left the band, which was then followed by lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain. The band then went onto release They're Only Chasing Safety featuring my favrouite songs Reinventing Your Exit and Im Content With Losing. The band then went on to record and release their fifth album Define the Great Line. These albums were certified gold leading to a 2007 Grammy nomination. The band then went on to release two more albums Lost in the Sound of Separation and Disambiguation, leading to another Grammy nomination in 2010. Their fourth album was my favourite as it came out while I was in highschool and it really helped me deal with a lot of things that were going on in my life. When I listen to some songs from the band, my eyes fill up, not with saddness, but with memories of the past, and I love them even more. Heres a song from their latest album Disambiguation, hope you enjoy! Post your comments!Peace &Love Babes!
